I was wondering...

why do all the SUVs have their stepney/extra tyre attached 'off centre' on their rear doors?? It is usually right side off centre as most doors have handles on the left but why not at the dead centre of the door?? The rest of the car is always symmetrical then why asymmetry here?? It suits my aesthetic sensibility (!) though! I like things, all a little skew, a little off centre and seemingly (mind you 'seemingly') off-balance!

Any ideas???

In every human being atleast one trait has to be there where he is very diffeent from others . and mostly others may not understand him why he is behaving like dat ?
or cant be logically explained ?

Arre..it must be coz of the balance funda...the stepny is pretty heavy[this is a fact i am not forgetting in a hurry thanks to a late evening tyre changing session bang opposite Inox :(].If it is placed more towards the side on which the door opens, it'll add an extra load on the door hinges. Also if it is in the center, hanging by the door, an art some people pracice to perfection, is not possible. This hanging is achived by holding on to the carrier bracket and/or roof groove for sheer life and planting feet not so firmly on the step. :P.
Therefore, tt is mostly towards the hinge side of the door due to the above named reasons. Call me genius. ;)
